Three golden rudbeckia with reaching stems and luminous yellow petals bring light and movement to the darker ground. This contemporary floral still life captures the simple beauty and individual character of garden flowers.
A loose arrangement, allowing the flowers to reach in different directions and one to disappear beyond the edge of the painting. Layers of paint and visible marks give the vase and background a softly worn, textured quality.
Acrylic on stretched canva
30 x 40cm
Original painting, unframed, ready to hang
