An expressive floral painting inspired by the freedom of an imagined garden. Bold, simplified flowers rise from a turquoise spotted pot, surrounded by playful marks, fragments of pattern and softly layered colour. I enjoyed allowing the flowers to develop intuitively rather than trying to describe a particular variety, creating a piece that feels joyful, slightly quirky and full of character.
Mixed Media on stretched canvas
40 x 40cm
Original painting, unframed, ready to hang
